ABOUT THE BREEZE
General Information
The Bright Water Breeze swim team (The Breeze) is a neighborhood summer league team based in the Bright Water neighborhood pool in Snellville, GA. The 25-yard pool has 7 competition lanes.
The team has been in existence since 2001 and is a member of the Gwinnett County Swim League. The team earned the Division Champ title in the 2003, 2008, and 2009 seasons. We compete against other teams in the South West Division as determined by the GCSL. The meet schedule is determined by the GCSL.
Clubhouse Pool
Does my child need to know how to swim?
Your child should be able to swim a length of the pool by the time meets begin. Swim team is not a substitute for beginning swim lessons. It is a good way for children who can swim to become better swimmers. Older children (12 and up) will need to swim at least two lengths of the pool (50 yards) at meets.
No previous experience is needed in competitive swimming. There are events in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Coaches work with the team on these strokes, turns, and starting dives. Team members will not have to swim all strokes to compete. In fact, each swimmer is limited to three individual events per meet.
