6/20 Thursday's Meet Against Eastmont Cove (EC)
Dear Bright Water Breeze,
Have fun tomorrow at our home meet against Eastmont Cove! Please see helpful information below . . . Reminder we do practice Thursday morning and we will also have our guppy meet and donuts during Fun Friday from 9:00-10:00.
Remember to have your volunteer responsibilities and swimmer’s availability accurate by Monday evenings at 6:00. Please make sure you have also let us know if you are able to attend the county meet if your child qualifies or is needed for a relay. This can be found under swim meets and please make sure you reply under the correct age group.
#1. Please arrive at 4:30. Our warm-up time is at 5:00.
#2. We are doing the fun "Chuck-A-Duck" fundraiser again. We will accept Cash or Cash App to purchase the ducks. 1 duck for $3, 3 ducks for $5 and 6 ducks for $10. The last remaining duck in the hula hoop wins half the proceeds!
#3. Please make sure you know what you are volunteering for and get your lanyards and purchase ducks from Christina and/or Keenan.
#4. Our concession stand will accept Cash App and cash and will include pizza, nachos, hot dogs, chips, drinks, pickles, candy, and frozen treats.
#5. We will set up on the hill. Make sure everything is cleaned before leaving.
#6. We will be having a Superhero theme for this meet!
#7. We plan to have our officiating/timer meeting between 5:30-5:45. Please make sure you are on time if this is your shift.
#8. We will be selling heat sheets for $1.00, and they will be located at the concession stand.
#9. Write your swimmer's name and age on her back and events on arm/leg prior to arriving if possible.
#9. As always, we appreciate any assistance with clean-up at the end of the meet.

5/23 Practice Meet
Dear Bright Water Breeze,
We are excited for tomorrow’s practice meet and as far as I know, the pool is open. I know they plan to pressure wash, but we have not been notified of any closings. If we hear differently, we will notify you asap.
Please make sure you are reading our e-mails, Facebook posts and listening to announcements from our coaches to stay in the know and check your TeamReach for any last-minute notifications.
We will be warming up at 5:30 tomorrow. Please arrive between 5:00-5:15. We will begin the meet at 6:00. No parking in front of the clubhouse during practices and especially during meets! This must remain open for emergency vehicles if necessary and is needed for the council members loading and unloading for concessions.
Morning practices start tomorrow (Ten and under 8:00-8:50, Eleven and up 9:00-10:00). Your child’s events will be posted on the window. I suggest you take a picture so you can write his name and age on his back and the events on his arm or leg BEFORE arriving to the meet. They are also already posted under our meet in Swimtopia. You will see the two attachments: Heat Sheet and Athlete Check-In. If you are unable to do that, bring a sharpie, but know it is time consuming and meets get hectic.
Please be patient tomorrow. Our practice meet is meant to work out kinks and help those who are new! Speaking of that, we are trying something new this year. If all goes well, there will be a Cashapp offer in addition to cash for concessions. We will have cheese and pepperoni pizza, candy, chips and drinks available for purchase tomorrow until they run out. Part of practicing is working through how much food to order/prepare for. This will help us make needed adjustments for our dual meets coming up.
Wear your team suit if you have it and all hands on deck . . .
Please remember your availability must be set by 6:00 Monday evening or your swimmer won’t be seeded for Thursday’s meet. You will see cones in some parking spots this year. These are for council members/coaches/opposing team, so please do not move them. We appreciate any and all help with set-up and clean-up and any feedback to help improve the team.
Talk to your kids about having fun, but not screaming and running, cheering on their teammates and being aware of what event is taking place so they know when to be staged. Parents, we need your help with this!
Hopefully this is everything. Let’s have fun tomorrow . . .

Volunteer and Availability Now Live
Dear Bright Water Breeze,
First Week
We are off to a great start! We hope everyone is enjoying swim team and look forward to more of you coming next week. Our property manager has asked me to emphasize that only our coaches and council members can be in the downstairs clubhouse and those doors cannot be propped. We are allowed to leave the entrance gate open, the gate leading to the restrooms and the exterior restroom doors, but they must close immediately after our scheduled practice time.
Next Week
We will practice Monday and Tuesday after school but NOT Wednesday . . . enjoy celebrating the last day of school! Morning practices begin Thursday, and our practice meet is that evening, May 23rd. Ten and under will be in the water from 8:00-8:50 and eleven and up will follow from 9:00-10:00. There will NOT be a fun Friday next week.
Availability and Volunteer Responsibilities
Awesome news! All the meets have been opened and are ready for you to sign up for your five, mandatory volunteer shifts in addition to setting your child’s availability for the swim meets. Please login to: https://brightwaterbreeze.swimtopia.com/, click on the swim meets tab and click the green “Meet Entry” and “Job Signup” buttons for each meet. You will have the choice to suggest events for your child, but you do not have to do this. The coaches honor these most of the time, but they are not guaranteed. They are always analyzing our swimmers and choosing what is best for the team in addition to helping your swimmer grow.
We highly recommend everyone attend the upcoming practice meet to get the swimmers better prepared, allow new volunteers to practice, and to help us work through kinks prior to our first meet. If your child is swimming this Thursday, please know it is REQUIRED you volunteer for the meet. This will count for one of your volunteer requirements.
Deadline for Entries
Lastly, your child’s availability MUST BE entered no later than 6:00 on Monday evenings. I suggest looking at your calendar and setting all of them now. If something changes, you can go in and edit your selections as long as it is prior to 6:00 Monday evening. Please, please, please put this on your calendars. I suggest going in every Sunday evening to make sure you have the correct availability set for the upcoming Thursday meet. Your child will NOT be able to swim in the meet if your entries are POSTED after Monday at 6:00. We appreciate you adhering to this so our coaches have the necessary time to get us prepared and meet their required deadlines for the county.
Looking forward to another great week . . .

The Season Starts Tomorrow!
The season starts tomorrow and we are ready and excited rain or shine! Speaking of rain, we still practice in it and only cancel if it is REALLY bad or thundering/lightening. If you haven't joined our TEAMREACH for the current season, please do using code BWBZ24 as this is what we will use for any last minute updates or cancellations. Reminder that practices are Monday-Thursday this week at the following times:
8 and Under 4:15-4:45
9 and Up 5:00-5:45
Go Breeze!
Tonight's Meeting
At the meeting tonight, we will have quite a few previous swim team t-shirts available in various sizes for those interested and will gladly accept donations for them of any amount, so bring cash!
As of right now, it's looking like we will be able to use the upstairs, but there is no furniture so plan to stand/sit and we will make it as quick as possible . . . please do not bring folding chairs!
Beginning of the Season Info
Dear Bright Water Breeze,
Are you getting excited for the swim season? We are! This is just a quick e-mail to make sure everyone is prepared and ready.
#1. Team Suit – if you haven’t tried it on/ordered, Swim Atlanta Sugarloaf has them and are available for purchase. After May 1st, they are only able to sell available inventory though, so you need to get there today or tomorrow. Here is the link again to our team store if needed: https://reddiset.com/collections/bright-water-breeze
#2. Mandatory Parent Meeting: 7:00 P.M. Thursday, May 9th – you will be able to meet the coaches, ask questions and learn more about the season and required volunteer positions. The upstairs is unavailable due to the new flooring, so we will be meeting on the pool deck/squeezing downstairs if it rains, but we will be meeting rain or shine.
#3. Practices – We practice Monday-Thursday and have optional “Fun Fridays” which include our mini-meet for our precious guppies. These will only take place the mornings after regularly scheduled meets (not the practice meet). We will begin practicing on Monday, May 13th. See times below.
8 and Under 4:15-4:45
9 and Up 5:00-5:45
No practice the last day of school on Wednesday, May 22nd.
Morning practices will begin Thursday, May 23rd and we will also have our practice meet that evening. We DO practice the morning of meets. They are usually light and we get the blocks out to practice starts as well as relays, so please plan to attend the Thursday practices and meets. See morning practice times below.
10 and Under 8:00-8:50
11 and Up 9:00-10:00
#4. TeamReach – we will be using this app again for day of/last minute updates/communication. This comes in handy for any weather delays or cancellations concerning practices and meets. Please make sure you have this and join our new group: Bright Water Breeze 2024 using group code: BWBZ24. You should see a message from me on there that my husband replied to if you did it correctly!
#5. Bright Water Breeze Facebook Page – if you are new or have not joined our swim team Facebook group, please do! We like to make fun announcements and post to this page often:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/347977261892727
We look forward to seeing you a week from Thursday and seeing the kiddos in the water on the 13th!

Important Updates
Dear Bright Water Breeze,
Thank you to those who have already signed up for swim team this summer! If you plan to swim with us and haven’t, please register as soon as possible and help us recruit. We have yard signs coming to Bright Water and neighboring communities and will have flyers in mailboxes soon. Spread the word!
Register here: https://brightwaterbreeze.swimtopia.com/register/82500/main
Please note there is one correction from a previous e-mail I sent concerning our start date. Practices will begin Monday, May 13th and not on the 6th. Additionally, we have our meet schedule confirmed which will consist of three home meets and two away (see below).
Lastly, this Friday, April 12th will be our swimsuit fitting from 5:00-7:00. Due to the renovations being done at the clubhouse, these will take place at my house which is located in Bright Water at 1175 Water Shine Way. This is a drop-in event so come at whatever time is convenient for you. You will be able to purchase suits at this time as well which we highly encourage to ensure they arrive prior to our first meet.
We hope to see all of you this Friday at 1175 Water Shine Way and for sure at the mandatory parent meeting on Thursday, May 9th at 7:00 which will hopefully take place at the Clubhouse.
